SECURITY OF SUPPLY
WITH GREEN GAS.

Circular economy made efficient.

BiogriD

Biogas is a key factor in Germany's energy transition. It is becoming increasingly important to utilise biogas flexibly to support the changing energy landscape.

THE BIOGRID SYSTEM offers fast, economical access to the gas grid for a large number of biogas plants and thus solves many pressing problems for gas suppliers, agriculture and environmental protection.

We make decentralised biogas production centrally available.

Vision

Shaping a sustainable future

German agriculture is under immense pressure to transform. The most pressing issue is to reduce the emissions of food production while increasing animal welfare.

The sensible alternative to reducing livestock farming is to use farm manure to produce biogas. Only 30 per cent of this energy potential is currently utilised.

The reliable income from biogas makes it feasible for farmers to convert to animal welfare-friendly husbandry systems.

Win-win: The implementation of the BIOGRID SYSTEM turns a wish into reality, benefitting the agriculture sector and improving the security of German energy supply.

Mission

‘We are practitioners. We live the circular economy: from green farming to green technology.’

Stephen Costello

As a partner to agricultural energy producers and German gas suppliers, we form a link for the green transformation.

We develop innovative solutions based on our practical agricultural knowledge and technological expertise.

Fast, uncomplicated and climate friendly.

Biogas

Increasing electricity production from renewables provides an opportunity for biogas producers. Biogas can be used flexibly to compliment energy production from intermittent sources such as wind and solar. Additionally, upgraded biomethane can be stored in the gas network for use when wind and solar are not available. More than 15 per cent of today's natural gas consumption could be covered by biomethane in the future. Biogas can play a critical role for energy flexibility and security of supply.

BioGrid System

With our patented BioGrid Collect technology, we enable fast, decentralised collection of green gas directly from the farm. As a partner to gas grid operators, we process the biogas and feed biomethane centrally into the main grid. Through efficiency and flexibility, we unlock more biogas production that can be turned into valuable biomethane.

Green supply chain

For certain sectors improving sustainability is difficult. We work closely with companies in the food and agriculture industries. For example, CNG from green gas can reduce emissions from food distribution while improving sustainability at farms by valorising manure. A superb instance of the circular economy: economical, ecological and with positive social effects for rural areas.

Goals

Over the next 5 years, we are planning to set up BioGrid Networks across the whole of Germany. Our focus is on agricultural biogas plants with capacities of up to 1 MWel. Currently, these plants are too small to achieve economical production of biomethane. We will enable these producers to thrive and play a key role in the energy transition.
